Progress Reporting

Since Test #1 is now complete, I have filed Academic Progress Reports for students who now have an overall grade (as computed by WebAssign) lower than C. So if your average at this point in time is C- or lower, you should be receiving a report from Registration and Records.

This report does not affect your grade in any way. It's just a warning flag to alert you that you might want to take a close look at the way you are approaching this class. If you've been watching your grades closely, then this report doesn't tell you anything you don't already know. So I'm not trying to make you worry more than you already are. It's just a reality check for those of you who could stand some improvement in your performance.

And, of course, if have a B or C currently then you also might well want to improve your approach. So I'm not suggesting to anybody that you sit on your laurels. Everybody is encouraged to assess your standing in the class, not just today but throughout the semester, and look for ways to patch up the holes you discover.

Do contact me if you would like to consult about your standing in the class. The last day to drop the class without a grade is Wednesday, March 4. So keep that date in mind if your performance is borderline and you think you might want to bail out at some point.
